Scotland in Colchester Pipe Band Contest - 12th June 2011

Grades 2,3,4 and Solo Piping

This annual competition will take place in the Lower Castle Park in Colchester. (With kind permission of the Colchester Borough Council)

A variety of events, besides the pipe band contest, take place. These include Drum Majors, Highland Dancing and Solo Piping competitions. There will be an assortment of trade stands and side shows, with something for everyone. Last year, the weather was good to us, Let us hope for the same this year, preferably without the showers!

There will be a finale consisting of a massed bands parade and prize giving at approximately 4:30pm.

It is hoped that this competition will take place again next year.

How to get there : (assuming you are travelling along the A12 heading east)

Take the main Colchester slip road and follow the dual carriageway to a roundabout. Take the 2nd exit (A604) signposted to Colchester, this should be Cymbeline Way which changes to Colne Bank Avenue. When you reach the next roundabout, take the 2nd exit (A604) which is still Colne Bank Avenue. At the next roundabout take the 2nd exit (A604) which is Cowdray Avenue. Immediately before the fire station on your right, turn right into Catchpole Road and follow the road straight on into the car park.
